Job Summary:

The Senior IT Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating IT requirements across all Canadian offices and ensuring the effective implementation and management of IT systems and infrastructure.

This position requires a forward-thinking approach to researching and adopting innovative technologies to enhance productivity, collaboration, and security within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies and roadmaps aligned with the firm's overall business goals.
  • Oversee the IT department and provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to IT staff.
  • Coordinate IT requirements and initiatives across all Canadian offices, ensuring seamless IT operations.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define IT budgets and cost-effective technology investments.
  • Conduct research and analysis of emerging technologies to identify opportunities for business improvement.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the firm's IT infrastructure, including data backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards for consistent and efficient operations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage IT contracts and service level agreements.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and advancements in IT technologies.
  • Plan and conduct IT training sessions for staff to enhance their technology skills and productivity.
  • Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimizations.
  • Manage IT projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT management, with a focus on coordinating IT operations in multi-office environments.
  • Proven experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of IT professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, security protocols, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience in researching and adopting emerging IT technologies to drive business success.
  • Familiarity with relevant IT frameworks, such as ITIL and COBIT.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex IT challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to align IT strategies with business objectives and contribute to the firm's growth.
  • Strong project management skills to lead IT initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or relevant vendor certifications) are a plus.
