Job Summary:

The Intermediate General Architectural Technologist will work collaboratively with our team of architects and designers to produce high-quality design and technical documents for a variety of building types. They will be responsible for producing drawings, specifications, and other technical documents, as well as coordinating with consultants, contractors, and clients as required.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with architects and designers to develop design concepts and technical solutions for a variety of building types
  • Prepare accurate and detailed drawings, specifications, and other technical documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and other software as required
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure that technical documents meet project requirements and are completed on schedule
  • Review drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with building codes and standards
  • Assist with project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as required
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our design and technical processes
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as required

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an architectural firm or a related industry
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other software as required
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of building codes, construction techniques, and materials
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professionalism, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates technical proficiency and design ability is an asset
