Job Summary:
The Junior Interior Designer will play an essential role in assisting with the conceptualization and development of interior design solutions for healthcare facilities.
This position offers a great opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level interior designer to gain valuable experience and contribute to meaningful projects in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior interior designers to contribute to the development of interior design concepts for healthcare facilities.
- Assist in creating mood boards, design presentations, and material boards to communicate design ideas.
- Participate in space planning and layout development for various healthcare interior spaces.
- Contribute to the selection of interior finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting suitable for healthcare environments.
- Support the preparation of detailed interior design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
- Assist in the coordination with other design disciplines, architects, and engineers to integrate interior design solutions.
- Ensure that interior design solutions comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Utilize design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, as required for design tasks.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source interior design products and materials.
- Participate in site visits to verify construction progress and alignment with design intent.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new interior design technologies, and sustainable practices.
- Support interior design projects from conception through to implementation under the guidance of senior designers.
- Attend design meetings and contribute to design discussions with the project team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Entry-level or up to 1 year of experience as an interior designer (internship or co-op experience included).
- Basic proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Passion for interior design and a strong interest in contributing to healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of design principles, space planning, and material selections.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations relevant to interior design and healthcare facilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in design tasks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with design teams.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude in supporting interior design projects.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D visualization tools is a plus (optional).
