Interior Designer - Toronto, ON, Canada - Full Time
Job Summary:
The Intermediate Interior Designer will be responsible for providing design solutions for various projects undertaken by our architecture firm, with a preference for healthcare design experience. They will work closely with our architects, engineers, and other design professionals to develop interior design solutions that meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the projects.
The successful candidate will have a strong interior design background, excellent communication and project management skills, and experience working on healthcare projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop interior design concepts that meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the projects
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure that interior design solutions are coordinated and meet project objectives
Prepare interior design deliverables, including design drawings, material and finish schedules, and other documentation as required
Present interior design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams as required
Manage interior design project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that interior design solutions are implemented according to the design intent
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our design processes
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an architectural firm or a related industry
Preference for experience in healthcare design
Strong interior design skills, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates design excellence
Excellent communication and project management skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Professionalism, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other software as required
Understanding of building codes, construction techniques, and materials
