Job Summary:
The Senior Architectural Operations Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the operational aspects of the architecture practice, ensuring efficient project delivery, resource management, and process improvement.
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and strategic management skills to drive the success and growth of our institutional architecture projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of the architectural practice, with a focus on institutional architecture projects.
- Collaborate with the executive team to establish strategic goals, business plans, and project priorities.
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, architects, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Manage and allocate resources, including staffing, budgeting, and project assignments.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and healthcare regulations in all projects.
- Oversee risk management processes, identifying and mitigating potential project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Collaborate with the business development team in pursuing new architectural opportunities.
- Provide input on design concepts and project strategies, leveraging expertise in institutional architecture.
- Evaluate and improve internal workflows, project management tools, and technology solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the architectural team.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the practice remains at the forefront of architectural field.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in architectural project management, with a significant focus on healthcare architecture projects.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of healthcare design principles, regulations, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience in operations management, resource allocation, and budget oversight.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to envision and execute long-term business plans.
- Proficiency in project management software, BIM tools, and other architectural software.
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare regulations and building codes is advantageous.
- Strong business acumen and decision-making abilities.
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Membership with relevant professional organizations or architectural associations is preferred.
