Job Summary:
The Intermediate BIM Manager will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for healthcare projects, ensuring the efficient use of BIM technology and workflows.
This position requires a deep understanding of BIM standards, project coordination, and the ability to lead BIM initiatives effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the implementation and execution of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices for healthcare projects.
- Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to develop BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) tailored to each healthcare project.
- Coordinate and manage BIM workflows and data exchange between multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration and clash detection.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on BIM software, workflows, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews of BIM models and datasets to ensure compliance with established standards and project deliverables.
- Manage BIM content and libraries, ensuring they are up-to-date, organized, and accessible for project teams.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as contractors and consultants, to facilitate BIM data exchange and coordination.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to BIM in healthcare architecture.
- Participate in firm-wide BIM training initiatives and contribute to continuous learning and development.
- Work with the BIM Lead and other stakeholders to strategize and implement BIM-related process improvements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of BIM-related documentation, including templates and guidelines.
- Coordinate with the BIM Lead to ensure BIM deliverables are seamlessly integrated into design presentations and client interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BIM coordination, with a majority of work on healthcare projects in Canada.
- Proficiency in BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
- Comprehensive understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and guidelines relevant to healthcare projects.
- Strong project coordination and team management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex BIM-related challenges.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED certification is a plus.
